Tulum Day 4: Swimming with the dolphins

Well this post will have significantly less pictures because they wouldn't let us bring our camera when we swam with the dolphins and one picture was $25 so we decided to opt out of buying pictures.  Do you know how much stuff you can get in Mexico for $25?  So we decided to pass on buying the picture of Octavio kissing a dolphin, sorry Mom!

the dolphin place was in the middle of a super fancy community of apartments, condos, houses, and tennis courts, golf courses, shops and restaurants.

lots of pictures of all the boats for my Dad.

Octavio waiting to swim with the dolphins.

A manatee swam by.  You could swim with the manatees and feed them but that was way more expensive so we just stuck with the dolphins.

more boats.

We swam with a couple of sting rays and a shark also after the dolphins.

Where the manatees lived.

boats, boats, and more boats.

Sea lions.

They were very playful.

The sea lions patiently awaiting their lunch.

I decided this one was the boy.  He got a little bored waiting for his fish so he went over to the door and poked his nose through looking for the trainer.

His friend, meanwhile, waited patiently in her spot.

The two dolphins we swam with had their babies with them.  The babies were four months old and stuck close to their mommas the whole time.  Every once in a while we had to stop and wait because the moms had to nurse the baby dolphins.  We got to do a dorsal pull where the two dolphins swam past you and you held on to their dorsal fins and they pulled you through the water.  We also got to do a foot push where the dolphins swam up behind us and pushed our feet with their noses and we flew through the water like superman.  Those were definitely the coolest parts but we also got to hug the dolphins, pet them, kiss them, dance with them, and swim around with them.  After swimming with the dolphins we jumped over to a different area and briefly snorkled with a nerf shark and a couple of sting rays.  It was an incredible experience!

Afterwards we came home, rested, and then went to the doctor and then the pharmacy because my stomach was in some serious pain!  Luckily I got some medicine right away and after a few days I felt just fine!  Still, what a horrible time to get sick!
